Alexander Bublik clinched the Halle Open title for the second time after downing Daniil Medvedev in straight sets on Sunday.
Bublik, who beat Andrey Rublev in the 2023 showpiece, repeated the trick with a sensational 6-3 7-6 (7-4) victory in one hour and 21 minutes in the final.
He built on reaching his first grand slam quarter-final at Roland-Garros earlier this month, and surged to the first set in double quick time.
Bublik needed just 26 minutes to seal the opening set, breaking in the eighth game with a hold to love.
Medvedev clawed back two break points early in the second set, with the Russian responding well to going behind and looking to take the match the distance, with Bublik forced to save a set point.
But it was Bublik who emerged victorious from the tie-break, clinching the title with a fierce serve that Medvedev returned long.
Data Debrief: Bublik ends Medvedev hoodoo
Ahead of their clash in Germany, Bublik described Medvedev as the "last Russian standing", having failed to win any of his six previous meetings against the former world number one, but he got over the line this time to win his second ATP 500 title.
And in doing so, he became just the fourth player in the history of the Halle event to win the trophy more than once, after Roger Federer (10), Yevgeny Kafelnikov (three) and Tommy Haas (two).
Bublik defeated world number one Jannik Sinner in the second round and is now 9-0 against players inside the top 25 at Halle, with four of those victories coming this week.
