The Air India plane crash, according to eye-witness accounts, killed all 242 people on board, including former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani. It has been said that about 100 charred bodies have been taken out so far.

According to eye-witnesses who spoke with Outlook, the Air India plane crashed first into four buildings that are staff quarters for a nearby hospital. Because it was lunch time, most people were outside. However, eye-witnesses said that there were several women and children who were inside and are injured. These people have been airlifted for treatment.

The buildings are completely charred.

The plane then crashed into the main hospital building. The middle portion of the plane's body is in a jumbled state which, along with the heat from the flames of the crash and fuel fumes, is hampering rescue operations.

At 5pm, the fire brigade personnel managed to get inside the main hospital building and are currently searching for more survivors.

Eyewitneses told Outlook that all people in the plane are dead. They said they saw at least 100 charred bodies of passengers being taken out so far. There are also 12 dead in the buildings, said eye witnesses
