India and England are set to collide in a high-stakes Test series consisting of five matches. This will be the first assignment of both these teams in the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. For India, the series holds even more value as it is the first Test tour since the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Shubman Gill, the new India captain, would be eager to prove himself in the leadership role.
While captain Gill is himself really young at just 25 years of age, there are even younger prodigies set to show their potential on the big stage. Here are five young talents that you should keep an eye on in the upcoming India's tour of England.
Sai Sudharsan, 23
After gaining the Orange Cap in the recently held IPL 2025, Sudharsan is now eyeing to add another feather in his cap. He has earned a maiden Test call-up and is in line to make his debut in Leeds where the series begins. While his First Class numbers are not that great but the talent is there to see.
Jamie Smith, 24
Already a Test centurion, Smith has shown his worth in some tough situation for England. He can bat anywhere in the batting order, can keep wickets and is a good player of spin. Expect him to again rise up in tricky situations to give headache to Indian bowlers.
Jacob Bethell, 21
One of the brightest talents in the batting world right now, Bethell is tipped to be an all-format star. Having already made his debut across formats in 2024, the left-hander will be now looking to claim a regular place in the England XI.
Dhruv Jurel, 24
A wicket-keeper batter with solid technique, Jurel has impressed in his limited Test outings. He also looked good in the warm-up matches in the run-up to the series. The right-hander is still not assured of a place in the XI but if he gets a chance, he has the talent to do well in English conditions.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, 23
Already a star in world cricket, Jaiswal has established himself in the international circuit as a top name. He has done well in India and followed it up with a good series in Australia as well. However, England will be a different challenge and Jaiswal is equipped with all the talent in the world to conquer the conditions.
