Ever since the disappointing tour of Australia, there has been a lot of conjecture about Rohit's future in the team as well as his position as captain, but a match-winning 76 in the final against New Zealand has put it to rest.

"I am not going to retire from this (ODI) format. Going forward please don't spread rumours," Rohit said at the post-match press conference after India beat New Zealand by four wickets to clinch the trophy. You can watch the video clip of Rohit's terse comment below.

The 37-year-old was expectedly asked about his future plans and he said in his trademark nonchalant manner that things will remain as it is. "No future plans. Jo ho raha hain, woh chalta jayega (Whatever is happening will keep continuing)," Rohit added.

Rohit hit an aggressive 76 off 83 balls at the top of the order to lay a solid foundation for India's chase of New Zealand's 252-run target. He had a 105-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill and led from the front as India won by four wickets to lay hands on the Champions Trophy for the third time.
