Jay Shah has officially taken charge as the Chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday, December 1, marking the start of a new chapter in cricket administration globally. (More Cricket News)
The former Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India secretary has succeeded Greg Barclay, who was at the position since November 2020.
In his first statement as the ICC Chair, Shah spoke about his vision focusing on leveraging cricket바카라™s inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games as well as prioritising the growth of women바카라™s cricket.
"I am honoured to take on the role of ICC Chair and grateful for the support and trust of the ICC Directors and Member Boards," Shah was quoted as saying by the ICC.
"This is an exciting time for the sport as we prepare for the LA28 Olympic Games and work to make cricket more inclusive and engaging for fans worldwide," Shah added.
Shah brings to the table a wealth of experience, with his journey kicking off in 2009 with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), where he played a major role in the development of the now Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
A decade later, Shah also became the youngest-ever Honorary Secretary of the BCCI, a position he held until stepping down for the ICC one.
He has also served as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), and as well as chaired the ICC바카라™s Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee.
