Virat Kohli ended his Indian Premier League 2025 campaign as the third-highest scorer as he capped another successful batting season for him in the league.

In the all-important final where both Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are fighting it out for their first ever IPL trophy, Kohli 43 off 35 balls.

Here are the five key takeaways from Kohli's IPL 2025 season where he was once again super consistent.

Total Runs

Kohli scored 657 runs in IPL 2025 in 15 innings. Only Sai Sudharsan (759) and Suryakumar Yadav (717) have scored more runs than Kohli this year. However, no one has scored more half-centuries this season than Kohli who crossed 50 eight times this season, two more than anyone else.

(Shreyas Iyer remaisn 54 runs behind Kohli and was yet to bat at time of writing)

Highest Score

The highest Kohli got this season was 73 not out which came against PBKS, the same team RCB are facing in the final. He won the Player of the Match for that effort which helped RCB beat PBKS by seven wickets.

Records

Kohli kept piling on records as he once again stood out with bat. In final, he overtook Shikhar Dhawan and became the batter with most fours in IPL. He also leads the charts of batters with most 600+ run seasons.

Boundaries

With a lot of runs also came a lot of boundaries for the former RCB captain. Kohli smashed 66 fours this season and once again only Sudharsan and Suryakumar were ahead of him in this list. He also launched 19 sixes this season.

Changed Approach In Final

Kohli's strike rate for the season was 144.71. However, in the final, there was an evident change of approach by the former India captain in the big game. He scored 43 runs off 35 balls at a strike rate of just 122.86. He started slow and as soon as he was about to take off, Azmatullah Omarzai had him caught and bowled off a short ball. Kohli's changed approach became a taliking point all over the inernet.
