After three years of war between Russia and Ukraine, the ceasefire talks between the two countries took a hit on Friday after Russia바카라s President Vladimir Putin rejected the offer by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to meet in person in Turkey.

However, this will still be the first direct talk between the two countries since March 2022 when the war began, as a delegation led by Ukraine바카라s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov was dispatched to Istanbul.

Zelenskyy said that the Russian delegation did not include 바카라anyone who actually makes decisions바카라, AP reported.

"We can't be running around the world looking for Putin," Zelenskiy said after meeting Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, as per Reuters.

"I feel disrespect from Russia. No meeting time, no agenda, no high-level delegation - this is personal disrespect. To Erdogan, to Trump."

Zelenskiy mentioned that he would also not be visiting Istanbul and that the Ukrainian mandate was to discuss a ceasefire.

The Russian delegation is headed by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, who said that representatives in Istanbul were ready to meet the Ukrainian delegation.

바카라The task of these direct negotiations with Ukraine is to establish long-term peace sooner or later by eliminating the root causes of this conflict,바카라 he said in a brief statement, AP quoted.

The time for their meeting is not known. Medinsky said late on Thursday that the Russian delegation would be waiting for Ukrainian officials at 10 AM (local time) on Friday.

Additionally, hopes from the peace talks tanked further when the United States President Donald Trump mentioned that there would be no movement without a meeting between himself and Putin, as per Reuters.

Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian delegation was sent to Istanbul to demonstrate to Trump that Ukraine is willing to end the war, alleging that Moscow is not.

The war has had a heavy toll on both sides, with more than 12,000 Ukrainian civilians dead, according to AP.

At least five civilians were killed and 29 wounded in the past day, according to authorities in five eastern regions of Ukraine where Russia is trying to advance.
