George Russell celebrated a pole-to-flag victory at the Canadian Grand Prix, as McLaren team-mates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri collided in a dramatic finale.
Russell ensured the winner of the Canadian Grand Prix was from the front row of the grid for a ninth straight time, but the drama came behind his Mercedes in the final laps.
Norris, who is second behind Piastri in the driver standings, clashed with the Formula One championship leader on the 67th lap in Montreal.
The Briton had overtaken Piastri with a brilliant move, yet after a couple of tightly contested corners, Norris went for a gap that was not there and clipped his team-mate's back wing before slamming into the barrier.
"All my fault, stupid from me," Norris acknowledged on McLaren's team radio before walking away from the crash unscathed, with the race finishing under a safety car.
Piastri rounded out in fourth, behind Kimi Antonelli, who capped off a fine day for Mercedes by clinching third place and his first podium finish in F1.
Reigning champion Max Verstappen finished second, making points up on Norris and Piastri ahead of Red Bull's home race in Austria at the end of June.
Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton took fifth and sixth, ahead of Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg, with Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz rounding out the top 10.
Data Debrief: Magic for Mercedes as Piastri's run ends
Piastri had been aiming to extend his streak to nine straight podium finishes, becoming only the 10th different driver to do so, but fell short, and will probably just be happy that his collision with Norris did not cost him further.
Russell and Antonelli ensured Mercedes took the bragging rights, and crucially plenty of points.
Russell, who claimed pole at this event last year but let it slip, fended off Verstappen to end the Dutchman's run of three straight victories at the Canadian Grand Prix, while Antonelli is the third-youngest driver to claim a podium finish in F1.
