Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound is all set to premiere in the Un Certain Regard category of Cannes 2025, on May 21. Ahead of its screening, the cast and the team attended the Vie Privée (A Private Life) red carpet at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals on May 20.
Homebound lead cast- Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa made their Cannes red carpet debut with filmmaker Karan Johar, who is also producer of the film. Neeraj was also in attendance. Everyone dazzled on the red carpet with their sartorial choices.
Janhvi Kapoor's look at Cannes 2025
For her Cannes outing, Janhvi donned a light pink outfit by ace Indian designer Tarun Tahiliani. It had metallic sheen and uncut hem to maintain the authenticity. The couture was specially woven in Banaras and it featured a custom-made skirt with long train and a corset. There was a veil of the same fabric, with which Janhvi covered her low bun. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the Devara actress looked no less than a princess.
For the accessories, Janhvi opted for pearl necklaces and matching earrings. Her hair was styled in a sleek bun. She kept her makeup subtle and dewy with pink blush and a winged liner.
Janhvi walked with confidence and flair and slayed on the red carpet with her stunning ensemble which was a blend of tradition with modern style.
According to Diet Sabya, Janhvi channelled her mother Sridevi for her first red carpet look at Cannes.
Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa's Cannes looks
Ishaan Khatter looked sharp in a deep wine-colored velvet suit by Gaurav Gupta. The ensemble featured a structured blazer with black embroidery across the chest. He looked regal and exuded charm and sophistication as he made a grand entry.
The Royals actor wore a silver stud in one ear, and a well-trimmed beard accentuated his features. He completed his look with a pair of shiny black shoes.
For his Cannes debut look, Vishal Jethwa was in a black outfit by Kaushik Velendra and he looked absolutely dashing.
Johar wore a dramatic ivory ensemble designed by Manish Malhotra. It came with a bandhgala, cape-style jacket that had silver embellishments and flowing sleeves. He paired it with black pants and wore statement shades to round off his look.
Coming back to Homebound, it is Ghaywan's sophomore feature film, which is also produced by Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Marijke deSouza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier have served as the co-producers. Legendary Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese boarded Homebound as an executive producer.
