Pakistani TikTok Star Shot Dead At Home In Islamabad

A 17-year-old TikTok star from Pakistan, Sana Yousaf was shot dead at her residence in Islamabad on Monday, according to reports by Pakistani media. Sana, who has over four lakh TikTok subscribers was shot twice at point blank range by an unknown assailant.

Pakistan바카라™s Samaa TV reported that the shooter could have been a visitor at her home. According to the police, the assailant fled the scene immediately after the incident, and a manhunt has been launched to catch the suspect. 

Sana, who resides in Islamabad바카라™s G-13 sector, succumbed to her injuries and died on the spot. Her body was later moved to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for post-mortem. While reporting the matter, Samaa TV stated that no arrests have yet been made in the case. 

Who was Sana Yousaf?

Sana Yousaf hailed from the Upper Chitral area and was the daughter of a famous social rights activist. Apart from entertainment, Yousaf also used platforms like TikTok and Instagram to highlight women바카라™s issues and disseminate educational messages, as reported by The Free Press Journal. 

Social media outrage

Following her death, a video has gone viral on social media where she can be seen celebrating her birthday with her friends. Her followers have begun demanding justice for her killing floating hashtags like #JusticeForSanaYousaf on X and Instagram. 

The angle of her death being an honour killing has also made rounds on the internet with several such killings being reported in Pakistan in recent times. 

According to ARY news, a 15-year-old girl was killed in Quetta earlier this year by her father and maternal uncle in what was suspected to be an honour killing over her TikTok presence. The suspect, Anwar-ul-Haq who had claimed that his daughter was killed by unidentified gunmen, later confirmed that he had carried out the killing.
