While speaking at the United States-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in Washington on Monday, the U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that a trade deal between India and the U.S. is imminent.

바카라When they put the right person in India, put the right person on the other side of the table, and we've managed (that), I think,바카라 Lutnick stated while delivering his keynote address at the eighth edition of the USISPF.

He added that the trade deal is "not-too-distant future," as both countries have reached a common ground, and that the trade deal will give India a beneficial and special relationship with the US. "You should expect a deal between the United States and India in the not too distant future because I think we found a place that really works for both countries."

Lutnick also mentioned the elections of President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that, "President Donald Trump is the only person in our administration elected by the full United States of America and so does PM Modi in India," a "very, very rare" feat, as per ANI.

"That gives me an easy path to trade negotiations because we start from a very positive place," he added.

The commerce secretary added that India is attempting to secure a trade deal with the US early on, which as per him is to get a better deal. "I think India is trying hard to be one of the earlier countries which I appreciate," he said, as per Financial Express. "But these kinds of deals used to take two or three years and we바카라re trying to get them done in a month, which is just not the ordinary DNA of trading relationships between countries."
