Novak Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner in a blockbuster semi-final at the French Open, having recovered from a set down to beat Alexander Zverev in the last eight.

Djokovic's hopes of maintaining his push for a record-breaking 25th grand slam title looked to be in doubt when Zverev made a blistering start on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Two wayward backhands from Djokovic saw Zverev break in the very first game of the opening set, and he put on a clinic of classy serving to ensure that advantage held.

Djokovic only generated one break point 바카라“ saved in epic fashion by Zverev after a 29-shot rally 바카라“ throughout the opening set, with Zverev also winning 94% of his first-serve points to remain in control.

However, a break in the fourth game of the second set proved the turning point, with Zverev sending a backhand long after a pair of unforced errors put him under pressure.

Djokovic had to survive a four-deuce service game lasting almost 10 minutes immediately afterwards, but that was the only time he was seriously pressured in the second set.

Fourteen straight points were won on serve from the end of the second set into the start of the third, with Djokovic finally breaking after some fine approach play in game five.

The pressure looked to get to Zverev as he argued with his box, and Djokovic got the double break in game seven, taking the third set in 36 minutes.

Zverev could not shake the mistakes as Djokovic broke again in the opening game of set four, with the German double-faulting then sending a limp strike straight into the net.

That was the final break of the match, though Djokovic had to work hard to get over the line as Zverev saved four match points 바카라“ including one with a crushing forehand into the right corner 바카라“ before finally succumbing to the pressure.

Djokovic's 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-4 victory means he will face Sinner in his 12th Roland-Garros semi-final, while Zverev's wait for a maiden grand slam triumph continues.

Data Debrief: Djokovic into double figures versus top five

By downing third seed Zverev, Djokovic 바카라“ the sixth seed at this edition of Roland-Garros 바카라“ brought up his 10th career top-five victory at the French Open.

Having also managed 18 victories over top-five players at the Australian Open, Djokovic is the first man to register 10 or more such wins at multiple grand slams since the ATP rankings were founded in 1973.

Meanwhile, at the age of 38 years and three days, the Serbian is the second-oldest man to reach the French Open semi-finals in the Open Era.

Only Pancho Gonzales, who was 40 years and 18 days old in 1968, when he lost to eventual champion Rod Laver, has done so at an older age.
