Post sexual misconduct allegations, cinematographer Pratik Shah has been removed from Shefali Shah's yet-to-be-titled project, filming of which is set to start this week. Sourav Ganguly's biopic, which is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, has also been put on hold, reported Mid-Day.
The publication quoted an insider saying, "In light of these serious accusations, the team of Shefali's film has decided to drop him. The makers are looking for a replacement, and the project will roll in a few days."
Sourav Ganguly's biopic is currently on hold as the makers have ordered an internal inquiry to investigate the matter. "After the Cannes premiere of Homebound, Pratik flew to the UK for the biopic's recce. But now, an Internal Complaints Committee [ICC] has been formed to investigate the claims against him before any decisions about his involvement are made. The pre-production on the project continues as scheduled," as per the report.
Pratik worked with Motwane on Prime Video's Jubilee (2023) and Netflix's CTRL (2024)
A source revealed that considering a complaint that was registered with the Indian Women Cinematographers' Collective (IWCC) against Pratik in 2020, it has "promptly taken note of the matter".
They are looking into the matter seriously and has asked female cinematographers to come forward to share their experiences.
Pratik is yet to respond to the allegations. He deleted his Instagram account following the allegations.
On Friday, filmmaker Abhinav Singh, took to his Instagram Stories and described Pratik Shah as "highly manipulative" and "emotionally abusive." He also wrote that a several women reached out to him about the cinematographer.
Following the allegations, Dharma Productions that backed Homebound shared a statement that read: "At Dharma Productions, we have a zero tolerance policy against inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment towards any individual working with us in any capacity, and we treat sexual harassment cases very seriously."
The production house also stated that Pratik Shah was a freelancer on the film and was working on it for a limited period and during this limited period, their "internal committee for POSH didn바카라t receive any complaints against him from any cast or crew of Homebound.
