At the 24th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, on March 9 in Santa Monica. 바카라Dune바카라, 바카라Cruela바카라, and 바카라Coming 2 America바카라 went home with numerous film prizes. Disney바카라s 바카라Cruella바카라, took the first award of the night. Costume designer Jenny Beavan won for Excellence in Period Film. Costume designer Jacqueline West and Robert Morgan later picked up the Sci-Fi/Fantasy statuette for Warner Bros 바카라Dune바카라.
Costume designer Ruth E. Carter in 2019 became the first Black woman to win the Costume Design Oscar. She won the Contemporary Film prize for Amazon Studios바카라 바카라Coming 2 America바카라. She will be a presenter at the Academy Awards as well, later this month.
On the TV side, Costume designer Sharon Long won Excellence in Period Television for Hulu바카라s 바카라The Great', and the Sci-Fi/Fantasy trophy went to costume designer Shawna Trpcic for Disney+바카라s 바카라The Book of Boba Fett바카라. Costume designer Patricia Field and Marylin Fitoussi won the Contemporary category for Netflix바카라s 바카라Emily in Paris바카라, and Costume designer Tom Broecker and Eric Justian won Excellence in Variety, Reality-Competition, Live Television for NBC바카라s 바카라Saturday Night Live바카라.
Current Oscar nominee, actor Andrew Garfield was presented with the CDG바카라s Spotlight Award. 바카라Working alongside so many magnificent designers throughout his career, [Garfield] has etched countless indelible images on the screen,바카라 Tony winner Judith Light said in introducing the 'Tick, Tick바카라BOOM' star.
In accepting, Garfield said, 바카라Thank you for your art, thank you for your hearts 바카라 and I hope we get to keep creating together.바카라 He was even seen breaking down in tears after this special win.
For the unversed, the Costume Designers Guild바카라s marquee movie categories are divided into Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Contemporary, and Period categories. Since the CDGAs launch in 1999, the Academy Award for Costume Design has gone to a period film every year but twice 바카라 with only 바카라Mad Max: Fury Road바카라 (2016) and 바카라Black Panther바카라 (2019) bucking the trend. Last year, the top CDGAs went to 바카라Promising Young Woman바카라 (Contemporary), 바카라Mulan바카라 (Sci-Fi/Fantasy), and eventual Oscar winner 바카라Ma Rainey바카라s 'Black Bottom바카라 (Period).
