Director Sriram Raghavan is awaiting the release of his next film, 바카라Merry Christmas바카라, and it features an unlikely pair of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. During a recent interaction, the filmmaker mentioned how it바카라s a bad idea to write films with certain actors in mind. It is so because then you end up writing in cliches.Â
When asked about his quirky casting in the upcoming film, Raghavan recalled a story about being approached by Sunny Deol, who called him after he was impressed with a documentary he바카라d directed in the early 바카라90s.Â
Raghavan told Galatta Plus, 바카라If I keep an actor in mind on the blank page, it바카라s damn tough. You end up writing cliched stuff that바카라s already been done. Many years back, I바카라d not even made a single film. Sunny Deol happened to see (the Raman Raghav documentary), he called me and said, 바카라Let바카라s do something바카라.바카라
He continued, 바카라Few months I was just enjoying myself, thinking, 바카라I바카라m doing a film for Sunny Deol바카라. But I was not writing anything of any value. I realised I ended up doing what I바카라d seen before. This was Sunny after 바카라Damini바카라 and all, when he was absolutely on top. Now he바카라s back in the reckoning, which is good.바카라Â
Raghavan also talked about casting Varun Dhawan in 바카라Badlapur바카라 despite having an older actor in mind. Revealing how one-film-old Varun was not his first choice for the film, the director did mention that the actor was very good in it, and 바카라it is a wonderful performance바카라.
Stating how he바카라s getting too much credit for his out-of-the-box casting, Raghavan said, 바카라For Badlapur, I had someone much older in my mind바카라Š I had proper actors in mind, like Irrfan. Then (producer Dinesh Vijan) felt what if it바카라s someone young. Someone like Varun, who바카라d just done 바카라Student of the Year바카라. It so happened that he called me up at that time, so I said, 바카라Okay, let바카라s call him and test it out with him바카라. Then he asked me the same day, 바카라Do you really think I can do it?바카라 In my head, I바카라m thinking, 바카라I have no idea바카라. I actually had no idea, but you sort of say, 바카라Why not?'바카라
Meanwhile, after the release of 바카라Merry Christmas바카라, the director would move on to 바카라Ikkis바카라, starring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra.
