Filmmaker Wes Anderson's new film The Phoenician Scheme is all set to hit Indian theatres on June 6, 2025, reported PTI. The movie is brought to India by Universal Pictures and Dreamworks Animation.
The film will premiere in the main competition of the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2025. It will hit US theatres on May 30, 2025.
The Phoenician Scheme is described as "a dark and gripping tale of espionage that unravels the complexities of a strained father-daughter relationship".
The official plotline reads: "When the daughter, once estranged from her enigmatic father, returns to uncover the truth about her family바카라s wealth, she stumbles upon a covert global operation entangled in political manipulation, surveillance, and betrayal".
The movie stars Benicio del Toro, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Benedict Cumberbatch, Bill Murray, Mia Threapleton, Riz Ahmed, Michael Cera, and Bryan Cranston.

The Phoenician Scheme's screenplay is co-written by Wes Anderson with Roman Coppola, son of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. It is produced by Steven Rales, Jeremy Dawson and John Peet.
Anderson said he wrote the film specifically with the aim of working again with del Toro. They had earlier worked together on the 2021 movie, The French Dispatch.
"I first brought this up with Benicio in 2021, at Cannes for 'The French Dispatch'. I told him then that something was coming his way if he was interested. Benicio and I started working on it very early. As soon as there were fifteen pages of the script, he바카라d seen that. There was never a moment in the process when Benicio was not involved," said the Oscar-award winning director.
