Police used mild lathi-charge on Friday (December 6), to disperse a group of students protesting near the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) office in Patna. The students were unhappy with the new exam process for the 70th BPSC Preliminary Exam, scheduled for December 13. However, BPSC said there have been no changes to the exam process.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra said the protest began around noon when a large group of aspirants gathered on Bailey Road, attempting to march towards the BPSC office. When stopped by police, the protesters sat on the road, causing traffic disruption. 바카라We repeatedly requested them to leave, but they refused. Since it바카라s a restricted area, mild force was used to disperse them,바카라 Mishra explained.
While some eyewitnesses claimed a few protesters were injured during the lathi-charge, the SSP denied these allegations. 바카라No one was injured. We used minimal force to disperse those trying to break the barricades,바카라 he said, adding that an FIR was being filed and CCTV footage was under review for further action.
The students demanded the exam revert to the 바카라one shift, one paper바카라 format instead of using the normalization process, which adjusts marks for multiple exam shifts through statistical methods.
Popular tutor and YouTuber Khan Sir joined the protesters at Gardani Bagh, the designated area for demonstrations, and voiced support for their demands. He urged the BPSC chairman to clarify that the normalization process would not be implemented and to extend the exam date, citing technical issues faced by aspirants during the application process. 바카라Until these demands are met, the protest will continue,바카라 Khan Sir said.
Khan Sir on Friday demanded that a statement be issued by none other than the BPSC chairman ruling out the use of the 'normalisation process' for the examination, and extend the examination date as many aspirants faced technical issues while applying.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also supported the students, calling on the BPSC to revert to the previous exam system and extend the exam date.
The 70th BPSC Preliminary Exam aims to recruit candidates for Group A and B posts, with nearly five lakh aspirants expected to appear across 925 centers.
