Apple supplier Foxconn has announced plans to go ahead with the $1.5 billion display module plant in India despite US President Donald Trump's request to refrain from producing in the nation. The move came to light during an exchange filing at the London Stock Exchange where Foxconn said that it was investing the said amount Yuzhan Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd, with the plant expected to come up in Tamil Nadu.
The investment is reported along with the Taiwanese contract manufacturer's ongoing $2.56 billion investment in its 300-acre Devanahalli plant in Karnataka, as reported by The Economic Times.

Along with the investment in Tamil Nadu, Foxconn will also be building dormitories for 30,000 workers in the area. The company currently manufactures 15 percent of the iPhones in India with plans to boost this number in the coming times.
