As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate, China has stepped out in support of Pakistan following the launch of Operation Sindoor.
As per an official statement issued by China, Beijing has labeled India's operation as "regrettable"
"China finds India바카라™s military operation early this morning regrettable. We are concerned about the ongoing situation," said the spokesperson of the Chinese foreign affairs ministry.
"India and Pakistan are and will always be each other바카라™s neighbors. They바카라™re both China바카라™s neighbors as well. China opposes all forms of terrorism. We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation," Beijing added further.
China, which also has border disputes with India, urged on both neighbouring nations to "prioritise peace and stability."
"We call on both India and Pakistan to prioritise peace and stability, remain calm and restrained and avoid taking actions that further complicate the situation," the spokesperson added further.
India Launches Operation Sindoor
The Indian Armed Forces launched a tri-fect operation called 'Operation Sindoor' which targeted nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The military operation comes after the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam which killed 26 civilians, including one Nepali citizen.
While India has alleged Pakistani involvement in the attack, Islamabad has denied all allegations. Following the Pahalgam attack, ties between India and Pakistan have officially downgraded with both nations cancelling visas, suspending key treaties and sealing their borders.
