In response to US바카라 tariffs, China appears to be encouraging direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales of luxury goods from Chinese manufacturers at significantly lower prices. These products바카라which include handbags, clothing, and cosmetics바카라are being sold without the luxury brand logos but claim to be of similar quality, often at a fraction of traditional retail prices.
On X (formerly Twitter), several American TikTok users have shared videos featuring Chinese suppliers who showcase high-end items allegedly made for luxury brands such as Birkin and Louis Vuitton. These suppliers emphasize the use of premium materials and skilled craftsmanship, inviting consumers to purchase directly from the source.
What Are The Tik Tok Videos Saying?
One user commented on a video, saying, 바카라China TikTok is so messy right now because the Chinese government has basically legalized counterfeit versions of American goods in response to the tariffs. Now they바카라re exposing how big brands manufacture their items and encouraging people to buy directly from China at a lower cost.바카라
In one such video, a supplier claiming to produce Birkin bags revealed that a bag retailing for $34,000 (approximately Rs 29.2 lakh) costs only around $1,400 (Rs 1.2 lakh) to make. The supplier asserted that manufacturers earn only a small profit, while the majority of the markup is attributed to branding. 바카라More than 90% of the price is for the logo. If you don바카라t care about the branding and just want the same quality and materials, you can buy directly from us,바카라 he said.
Another TikTok user posted a video featuring a Chinese manufacturer selling Birkenstock-style footwear, commenting, 바카라My For You Page is suddenly full of Chinese manufacturers trying to sell directly to Americans. The crazy part is바카라even after adding import tariffs and shipping costs바카라it바카라s still way cheaper than buying the same products through U.S. retailers. We are definitely not winning this trade war, lmao.바카라
In another viral post, a user shared a clip of a Chinese supplier offering knockoff versions of popular brands like Fila, Under Armour, and Lululemon at deeply discounted prices. 바카라China is definitely having their moment바카라 The tea is steaming hot,바카라 the caption read. The supplier claimed that while Lululemon items typically retail for around $100, similar items could now be purchased for just $5 to $6.
Tariff War Between China And US
This action comes as both the superpower countries are currently exchanging high tariffs. The US and China are engaged in a heated trade war, with the US imposing tariffs of up to 245 percent on Chinese goods and China retaliating with duties of up to 125 percent.
Recently, China's Ministry of Commerce urged the US to lift its retaliatory tariffs after a US announcement exempted certain consumer electronics, like smartphones and laptops, from these duties.
China appointed a new top international trade negotiator on Wednesday amid tariff tensions with the U.S.
The government said that Li Chenggang has been appointed to replace Wang Shouwen, who participated in the trade negotiations for the 2020 trade deal between the China and the US.
In the near term, the tariffs will put pressure on China바카라s economy, but they won바카라t derail long-run growth, Sheng Laiyun, a spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, told reporters.
It wasn바카라t clear why China was changing negotiators but the change comes as Chinese officials say the country has multiple options to respond to U.S. actions, including relying more on its own vast market of 1.4 billion consumers, and on Europe and countries in the global south. But as China바카라s domestic consumption continues to languish, it will be difficult to replace the U.S. consumer.
