Clashes erupted between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese army in Omdurman, on Tuesday, the army said, calling the fighting part of a 바카라large-scale바카라 offensive, as per AFP.
Explosions were heard in the area, where the RSF had retreated in March when they lost Khartoum - the capital of Sudan.
The army stated that the operation was to at remove the paramilitaries from their last remaining positions in Khartoum state.
Last month, at least 57 people died in violent clashes between Sudanese paramilitaries and the regular army in the besieged Darfur city of El-Fasher.
The two-year-long civil war has resulted in deaths of at least 28,000 people. Additionally, it has also uprooted 13 million civilians, and as many as three million have fled the country as refugees, with other regions of the country also facing famine.
Sudanese Civil War
The Civil War broke out when in April 2023 after the army had to flee Khartoum and move to the Red Sea city of Port Sudan.
The civil war has also been termed as the world's "worst humanitarian disaster" by the United Nations.
Back in March, two years since the civil war in Sudan started, the Sudanese army stated that it recaptured the capital Khartoum, taking control from the paramilitary group RSF. Army chief Abdul Fattah al-Burhan issued a video in which he declared "Khartoum is free".
