Delegations from both Russia and Ukraine agreed to swap the bodies of 6,000 soldiers killed in action during the ongoing war on Monday. The decision was taken during the second round of direct peace talks at Ciragan Palace in Turkey, which took place a day after Ukraine's drone attack destroyed more than 40 Russian planes.
The talks were reportedly presided over by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan while Turkish intelligence agency officials were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, Russia presented a memo setting out the Kremlin바카라™s terms for ending hostilities, the Associated Press reported, citing the Ukrainian delegation. However, the memo was not made public.
Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, who led the Ukrainian delegation, told reporters Kyiv officials would need a week to review the document and decide on a response. Ukraine proposed further talks on a date between June 20 and June 30.
Drone Attacks On Sunday
Ukraine's Security Service confirmed on Sunday that a Ukrainian drone attack has destroyed more than 40 Russian planes deep in the foreign territory, while Moscow launched 472 drones against Ukraine, marking the biggest drone attack since the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
The drone attack came the same day as Zelenskyy said Ukraine was scheduled to send a delegation to Istanbul for a new round of direct peace talks with Russia on Monday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening address, said that 117 drones had been used in the operation. He claimed the operation had been headquartered out of an office next to the local FSB headquarters. The FSB is the Russian intelligence and security service.
The social media footage shared by Russian media appeared to show the drones rising from inside containers while other panels lay discarded on the road.
