In a fresh development the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation on Thursday adopted a resolution to prohibit the sale of liquor and meat along the 14-kilometer stretch of Ram Path, a vital route connecting Ayodhya and Faizabad cities.
The decision has been announced by Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi. However, the district administration is yet to respond to the proposal.
"The executive committee of the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, comprising the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and 12 corporators, passed the motion to enforce this ban to maintain the city's true religious spirit," said the mayor, as per PTI.
바카라The councillors proposed that since this 14-km stretch of road is named Ram Path after Lord Ram, the sale of such items along it would not align with our cultural discipline. Therefore, we have passed a resolution and sent a letter to the DM to stop the sale of liquor on Ram Path. Moreover, we have also urged the district administration to relocate meat shops away from Ram Path,바카라 said the Mayor, according to The New India Express.
바카라Shops selling liquor and meat will only be allowed beyond half a kilometre from Ram Path, and restaurants and hotels serving non-vegetarian food will also have to relocate at least half a kilometre away from the road,바카라 PRO of Ayodhya Municipal Corporation reportedly said.
According to PTI, the ban will also extend to the advertisement of paan, gutkha, bidi, cigarette, and innerwear. The Ram temple is also situated on the Ram Path.
The practice of selling of meat and liquor in Ayodhya town has not been there for a long time. However, the newly adopted resolution aims to extend the restrictions to the entire Ram Path, encompassing areas in Faizabad city which has numerous outlets selling raw mutton, chicken, and liquor.
The five-km stretch of Ram Path, which starts from the Saryu banks in Ayodhya, falls in Faizabad city, and currently this stretch has several outlets selling meat and liquor.
The implementation details and timeline for this ban are expected to be announced by the municipal corporation soon
