MEA Gives Key Talking Points To Delegations; Dossier To Be Carried On Pak's Role In Fostering Terrorism

The Indian government has decided to send all-party delegations to key partner countries including members of the UN Security council to assert its zero tolerance against terrorism following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed the lives of 26 individuals.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Tuesday briefed the all-party delegations before they leave for foreign capitals to convey India's firm stand against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Misri's briefing included key points on the neighbouring country's persistent role in terror strikes and India's commitment to punish the perpetrators as well as their masterminds.

While India is committed to peace, it will not tolerate any terror attacks on its soil and will hit back as part of its "new normal", Misri told them. Members, MPs and former parliamentarians, of three of the seven such delegations were briefed, and they are expected to meet government functionaries, including ministers, legislators, think tanks and media during their visits to different parts of the world.

In a reference to Pakistan's offer of an independent probe into the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, Misri noted its earlier behaviour of ignoring evidence and doing little when India presented it with facts following other terror attacks, including 26/11 in Mumbai and in Pathankot in 2026. According to PTI, an MP quoted Misri as saying that trusting Pakistan is like trusting a "chor" (thief) to investigate the crime he has committed.

The delegations are likely to also carry dossier on Pakistan's role in sponsoring terrorism in India with evidence to convince the host countries.

"Dossier may be in the official language of the country," a source said, adding that visiting delegations will again be briefed by officials before their meetings with lawmakers and officials in different countries.

Foreign Secretary Briefs Delegates On Indo Pak-Tensions

A day before, while briefing a parliamentary committee on the recent India-Pakistan military conflict and its aftermath, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri asserted that the conflict between India and Pakistan was always in the conventional domain, and there was no nuclear signalling by the neighbouring country.

Misri also reiterated the government's stand that the decision to stop military actions was taken at a bilateral level. When an opposition member asked about Trump's several social media posts claiming a major role in facilitating the ceasefire, the foreign secretary maintained that the US president did not take his permission to do so.

As per PTI, the meeting of Parliament's Standing Committee on External Affairs, chaired by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, was attended by members, including the TMC's Abhishek Banerjee, the Congress' Rajeev Shukla and Deepender Hooda, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and the BJP's Aparajita Sarangi and Arun Govil.

The crucial meeting came days after the Indian armed forces carried out 'Operation Sindoor' targeting the terror infrastructure to avenge the deadly April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. On May 10, India and Pakistan reached an US-brokered understanding on halting all military actions.

It has also been reported that the committee on Monday unanimously condemned the trolling of Misri and praised his professional conduct throughout the time. Earlier, Misri faced heavy trolling on social media in wake of India and Pakistan reaching an understanding on May 10 to halt all military actions.
