Rajeev Chandrasekhar was a Rajya Sabha member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

From 2021 to 2024, he served as Minister of State for Electronics and IT and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Chandrasekhar made allegations that Tharoor had defamed him by making "false" and "defamatory" statements on national television. He claimed that the BJP leader, his rival in the elections, "bribed" voters in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to Chandrasekhar, Tharoor said that "with the intent to lower his reputation and to impact the result of the last general elections while knowing fully well that the statements were false"

Chandrasekhar's lawyer said the trial court ignored the evidence and decided that no case of defamation was made out.

On February 4, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Paras Dalal refused to summon Tharoor, saying the complaint 바카라œdid not make out any element of defamation바카라. The Delhi High Court will hear the case again on September 16.

Shashi Tharoor is an MP from the Thiruvananthapuram constituency in Kerala. He joined the Indian National Congress in 2009 after working with the United Nations for nearly three decades. Later, he was also appointed the Minister of External Affairs in the UPA government. He also served as the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.
