After India's strikes against terror camps at nine locations on May 7, Pakistan attempted to target the Golden Temple in Amritsar with missiles and drones.

Major General Kartik C. Sheshadri, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 15th Infantry Division, told the news agency ANI.

What did Major Kartik say?

The Major General told ANI that the Indian Army had anticipated that Pakistan would target its military installations as well as civilian installations, including religious places like the Golden Temple.

"Knowing that the Pak Army does not have any legitimate targets, we anticipated that they would target Indian military installations and civilian targets, including religious places. Of these, Golden Temple appeared to be the most prominent," he told ANI.

"We mobilised additional modern air defence assets to give a holistic air defence umbrella cover to Golden Temple,바카라 Major added.

He also confirmed that Pakistan carried out a massive air strike with unmanned aerial weapons, mainly drones and long-range missiles, on May 8.

"On 8th May early morning, in the hours of darkness, Pakistan carried out a massive air assault with unmanned aerial weapons, primarily drones and long-range missiles," he said, adding that the Indian Army was fully prepared, and hence it intercepted and destroyed all incoming threats.

"We were fully prepared since we had anticipated this, and our braveheart and alert army air defence gunners thwarted Pakistan Army's nefarious designs and shot down all drones and missiles targeted at the Golden Temple. Thus, not allowing even a scratch to come on our holy Golden Temple,바카라 he added.

The Indian Army on Monday showed a demonstration of how India's air defence systems, including the AKASH missile system and L-70 air defence guns, saved the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the cities of Punjab from Pakistani missile and drone attacks.

Major further added that Indian armed forces targeted various places in Pakistan with 바카라œabsolute precision바카라 during Operation Sindoor, including areas like Muridke and Bahawalpur, where terrorist organisations have their headquarters.

He said, "Of these (nine) targets, Muridke, which is in proximity to Lahore, houses the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba headquarters and also the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) headquarters at Bahawalpur, which were struck with absolute precision. Soon after the strikes, we issued a statement clarifying that we intentionally did not target any Pakistani military or civilian infrastructure."

These strikes come after India's Operation Sindoor 바카라“ a coordinated military strike on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was carried out in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 civilians were killed.
