India has briefly stopped the flow of water through the Baglihar Dam on the Chenab River. As per a report by PTI, the water flow has been cut on the Chenab river, and officials are working to carry out a similar action at the Kishanganga Dam on the Jhelum River.

The Baglihar Dam is located in Jammu바카라s Ramban district. As per PTI, sources familiar with the matter said that the hydroelectric dams -- Baglihar in Ramban in Jammu and Kishanganga in north Kashmir -- offer India the ability to regulate the timing of water releases.

On Monday, media reports also shared that the water from the Salal Dam in Jammu바카라s Reasi has been restricted.

As per an HT report, an official from the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation confirmed that the gates of the Baglihar dam had been closed on Sunday.

바카라We have closed the gates of the Baglihar hydel power project. We had done de-silting of the reservoir and it has to be refilled. The process was started on Saturday,바카라 the official told HT.

This restriction and blocking of water to the Chenab river comes after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 following a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir바카라s Pahalgam.

On April 22, terrorists opened fire at a group of tourists at the famed meadow in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, killing 26 people, including one Nepali citizen.

Following this attack, tensions between India and Pakistan escalated, prompting both nations to downgrade their ties with one another and closing down borders and airspace.
