Parvathaneni Harish, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, in a statement at the UN Security Council Open Debate said on Friday that the Indus Waters Treaty remained in abeyance owing to Pakistan's support to cross-border terrorism.

While speaking on conflicts, responsibility of the national governments to create a conducive environment where civilians are safe and secure, the UN representative said that he was constrained to respond to the baseless allegations of the representative of Pakistan on a number of issues, and went ahead to make three points.

바카라India has experienced decades of Pakistani-sponsored terrorist attacks across our borders. For such a nation to even participate in a discussion on the protection of civilians is an affront to the international community. A nation that makes no distinction between terrorists and civilians has no credentials to speak about protecting civilians,바카라 he said.

He mentioned that Pakistan바카라s attacks on India range from the horrific 26/11 attack on the city of Mumbai to the barbaric mass murder of innocent tourists in Pahalgam in April 2025. 바카라The victims of Pakistani terrorism have been predominantly civilians since its objective has been to attack our prosperity, our progress and our morale.바카라

Harish said that Pakistan has repeatedly used the civilian cover to advance the cause of terrorism, citing that recently military and police officials paid respect at funeral of a 바카라noted terrorist바카라 A nation that makes no distinction between terrorists and civilians has no credential to speak about protecting civilians.

Thirdly, he mentioned that earlier in May, the Pakistani army deliberately shelled India's border villages, killing more than 20 civilians and injuring more than 80. 바카라There was intentional targeting of places of worship, including gurudwaras, temples and convents, as well as medical facilities. To preach at this body after such behaviour is grossly hypocritical," he added.

Lastly, protection of civilians should not serve as an argument for protection of UN designated terrorists. The international community must come together on zero tolerance for terrorism.
