Thane city police on late Wednesday night registered a First Information Report (FIR) for defamation against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut for his claim that there was a threat to his life from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's son Shrikant Shinde.
A case was registered under IPC sections 153 (A) (promoting disharmony between different groups, religions, etc), 500 (defamation) and other relevant sections at Kapurbawdi police station, said an official.
The FIR was based on a complaint filed by former mayor Meenakshi Shinde, he said.
"Lok Sabha member Shrikant Shinde has given a 'supari' (contract) to kill me to a Thane-based criminal Raja Thakur," Raut had said in a letter to the Mumbai police commissioner.
What happened before?
Previously Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday wrote to the police alleging 바카라threat to life바카라 from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde바카라s son, with an MLA from the Shinde camp calling it a 바카라cheap stunt바카라.
바카라Lok Sabha member Shrikant Shinde (Eknath Shinde바카라s son) has given a supari (contract) to kill me to a Thane-based criminal Raja Thakur. I have confirmed information regarding the same. I am informing you as a responsible citizen,바카라 Raut said in his letter.
Raut made the allegations in a letter to the Mumbai police commissioner, copies of which were also sent to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the home portfolio, and the police of Thane city.
Responding to a question related to Raut바카라s letter, Aaditya Thackeray, MLA and son of ex-CM Uddhav Thackeray said, 바카라The complaint should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, these traitor MLAs (from Shinde camp) are not being controlled at all. One MLA had opened fire in Mahim area of Mumbai, but no action has been taken at all.바카라
Sanjay Shirsath, an MLA from Shinde바카라s group said, 바카라Raut is doing is a cheap stunt to gain sympathy. There is no doubt that there should be a thorough probe into the matter. However, do not forget that Raut does a lot of stunts, which have no substance.바카라
바카라I believe Dr Shrikant Shinde would never ever do such a thing, still a probe can be initiated,바카라 he said.
