Gujarat Titans바카라™ openers delivered a masterclass in Match 60 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, 18 May, chasing down a target of 200 in a 10-wicket victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
With the dominant win, the Titans secured their place in the playoffs, claiming the top spot in the IPL table.
Delhi Capitals, batting first on their home ground, posted a formidable total of 199/3, courtesy of a stunning century from KL Rahul. The wicketkeeper-batter became the first player to score hundreds for three IPL teams when he smashed an unbeaten 112 off 65 balls.
Other than two overs from Arshad Khan, with the all-rounder taking one wicket for seven runs, all the Titans bowlers went for big runs, with Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore taking the other two wickets.
In response, Gujarat Titans opened with captain Shubman Gill and impact sub Sai Sudharsan. The opening pair orchestrated a flawless chase, standing firm for a 205-run partnership to end the match with one over to spare.
Sudharsan was the star of the second innings, remaining unbeaten on 108 off 61 deliveries, while Gill finished at 93 off 53 balls.
None of the Capitals bowlers had economy rates below 8, with debutant Mustafizur Rahman being the most economical bowler, conceding 24 runs from three overs.
The result has promoted Gujarat Titans to the first playoff spot, while also allowing Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings to progress to the next round. However, Delhi Capitals now need other results to go their way while winning their own games to move to the next round.
