Shoaib Bashir played a starring role as England cruised to an innings and 45-run victory over Zimbabwe. (As It Happened)

The one-off, four-day Test match was wrapped up on day three as Bashir took six wickets in the second innings at Trent Bridge.

Bashir's second-innings 6-81 added to his 3-62 from the first innings, leaving him with career-best match figures of 9-143.

The off-spinner helped England bowl out the tourists for just 255, with 88 of those runs accumulated by Sean Williams, who capitalised on some loose work in the field.

Ben Curran chipped in 37 for Zimbabwe, successfully overturning an lbw call while also being dropped twice, though both he and Williams were eventually dismissed by Bashir.

Harry Brook's sublime catch to end Wesley Madhevere's stand on 31 was a highlight, with Ben Stokes impressively collecting his third wicket of the match in the process.

But the day, and the match, belonged to Bashir, as the 21-year-old rattled through the tail to round off a comprehensive victory.

Data Debrief: Bashir's brilliance

Bashir became the youngest England bowler to take 50 Test wickets during the first innings.

With his six-for in the second innings, he became only the fourth player to take three five-wicket hauls before turning 22.

England are now undefeated in all seven of their Tests against Zimbabwe, winning four of those matches, with each of those victories coming by an innings margin.
