Canada have sealed their place in the 2026 ICC Men바카라™s T20 World Cup after a convincing seven-wicket win over the Bahamas in the Americas regional final held in Ontario.
The victory was Canada바카라™s fifth in as many matches, ensuring a first-place finish in the tournament and a spot in the 20-team World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka.
This marks Canada바카라™s second appearance in a T20 World Cup, having also qualified for the 2024 edition through the same regional pathway. With the USA already qualified as co-hosts for 2024 and not participating in this round of qualifiers, Canada were firm favourites coming into the event, and they lived up to expectations with dominant performances throughout.
Canada바카라™s campaign included wins over Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and Bahamas, with victory margins of 110 runs, 59 runs, 10 wickets, 42 runs, and, most recently, seven wickets.
In their latest match against the Bahamas, Canada bowled out the opposition for just 57 runs in 19.5 overs. Left-arm pacer Kaleem Sana led the way with impressive figures of 3 for 6, while Ansh Patel took 2 for 7 and Shivam Sharma claimed 3 for 16.
In response, Canada chased down the target in just 5.3 overs. Opener Dilpreet Bajwa smashed an unbeaten 36 off 14 balls to complete the rout and confirm their ticket to the 2026 tournament.
So far, 13 teams have qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup: India (hosts), Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, USA, West Indies, and now Canada.
Seven more spots remain to be filled through regional qualifiers: two from Europe, two from Africa, and three from a combined Asia-East Asia Pacific (EAP) group.
Canada will play their final game of the regional final against Bermuda on Sunday, but with qualification already secured, their job is effectively done.
