Venues and dates for the upcoming ICC Women's World Cup 2025 that will take place in India and Sri Lanka were announced by the International Cricket Council on Monday.
The tournament will kick off on September 30 with the final scheduled for November 2. Five venues across India and Sri Lanka will host the entire World Cup which will see the participation of eight teams.
These venues will be M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), and R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo).
The tournament will start in Bengaluru and if Pakistan do not qualify for the final, it will also end in the same city. Pakistan will be playing their games in Sri Lanka under hybrid model. If Pakistan qualify for the semifinal, they will play it in Colombo otherwise, the last four games will be hosted by Guwahati and Bengaluru.
Apart from hosts India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan are the other teams in fray. Pakistan and Bangladesh booked their entry into the tournament through the Qualifiers while others qualified on the basis of their ICC rankings.
Seven-time champions Australia will once again enter the tournament as title holders. This will be the first Women's World Cup hosted by India after 12 years.
