The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will resume on May 17 (Sunday) with a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru. The T20 cricket league was halted on May 8 after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off amid heightened India-Pakistan tensions.

The said match will be replayed on May 24 in Jaipur. Batting first, PBKS were 122/1 in 10.1 overs when the game was initially stopped due to a blackout in the stadium.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday released the revised schedule for the cash-rich league. The remaining matches, 17 in total -- 13 league games and the four playoffs -- will be played in six venues.

There will be two double-headers, on two Sundays, with day matches starting at 3:30 PM IST. The league stage will conclude with a fixture between Lucknow Super Giants and RCB in Lucknow.

"After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season," the BCCI said in a statement.

"A total of 17 matches will be played across 6 venues, starting May 17, 2025, and culminating in the final on June 3, 2025. The revised schedule includes two double-headers, which will be played on two Sundays."

IPL 2025 Points Table

Originally scheduled to end on May 25 with a Kolkata finale, the 18th season of the world's richest and high-profile cricket league has so far witnessed 58 completed matches, including a couple of no results, and Shubman Gill's Titans lead the 10-team table with 16 points (8 wins and 3 defeats) from 11 matches.

RCB, also with 16 points from their 11 outings, are second on net run rate, +0.482 as against GT's +0.793, ahead of Punjab Kings (15 from 11) and Mumbai Indians (14 from 12). Delhi Capitals (13 from 11), KKR (11 from 12), and LSG (10 from 11) are still in contention for a top-four spot.

The top four teams after the conclusion of the league stage will then proceed to the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (7 from 11), Rajasthan Royals (6 from 12), and Chennai Super Kings (6 from 12) have already been eliminated from the play-off race.

Question Marks Over Foreign Players' Availability

Several foreign players contracted with the IPL franchises left for their respective home countries and some were in transit, after the league was suspended.

Now, the teams will have to reassemble them, at least as many as possible, before May 17. However, some players might stay back, particularly those with some niggles.

The comeback plans of Australia's pacer Josh Hazlewood, who plays for RCB, might get affected by a shoulder niggle that forced him to sit out of the home game against Chennai Super Kings.

However, it remains to be seen how many Aussie and South African Test regulars return to the league considering the probability of them featuring in the World Test Championship final at Lord's, starting from June 11.

Pat Cummins (SRH), Kagiso Rabada (GT) etc are some of the names who are frontline Test players of Australia and South Africa respectively.

India A Tour To England Dates Clash

The revised IPL dates also clash with the scheduled India A tour to England where they will face the Lions in two four-day matches from May 30 and June 6.

Some of the first-choice Test players and contenders are expected to get picked in the India A squad ahead of the senior team's tour to England, beginning on June 20.

It remains to be seen how the BCCI will address this disparity as the India A squad will be announced in a day or two.

The playoffs are scheduled as follows:

  • Qualifier 1 바카라 May 29

  • Eliminator 바카라 May 30

  • Qualifier 2 바카라 June 1

  • Final 바카라 June 3

"Venue details for the playoffs will be announced at a later stage," added the release.

The Indian Premier League 2025 was suspended by the BCCI last week with the PBKS vs DC match called off after 10.1 overs in the first innings. Arun Dhumal was seen evacuating the spectators at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala.

바카라While cricket remains a national passion, there is nothing greater than the Nation and its sovereignty, integrity, and security of our country. The BCCI remains firmly committed to support all efforts that safeguard India and will always align its decisions in the best interest of the nation,바카라 BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia had said in a statement.
