The second ODI was washed out after the visitors posted a daunting 352 runs on the board. Keacy Carty plundered 102 runs from 109 deliveries before Matthew Forde smashed a 19-ball 58 to delight spectators. Along the way, Forde equalled AB de Villiers' record for the fastest ODI half-century, getting to the 50-run mark off just 16 balls.
At 42 runs off 13 balls, Forde looked poised to break De Villiers' record for the fastest fifty, but a missed ramp shot off Liam McCarthy delayed the milestone. He then struck two consecutive sixes to bring up his fifty, matching the South African legend's feat.
Before that, the Paul Stirling-led Ireland took a 1-0 lead with a thumping 124-run win in the series opener. Having posted 303 runs on the board, the hosts dismissed Shai Hope's West Indies for just 179 runs in 34.1 overs, with Barry McCarthy returning figures of 4/32.
The ODI leg will be followed by a lengthy break, post which the three-match T20I series will get underway in Belfast. The first game will played on June 12, the second on June 14 and the final match of the tour on June 15.
