In what was a nail-biting encounter at the Oakland Coliseum, the Texas Super Kings held their nerve to beat MI New York by just three runs in a Major League Cricket 2025 thriller. Bracewell was fluent early on before falling to Adam Milne for 38, courtesy of a sensational one-handed diving catch by du Plessis.
Kieron Pollard then lit up the death overs, smashing Daryl Mitchell for four consecutive boundaries in the 17th over. But disaster struck as Pollard casually jogged a single and was run out by a sharp Mitchell direct hit.
One ball later, Monank Patel (55 off 39) was run out following a mix-up with Tajinder Singh Dhillon. The pressure mounted, and though Trent Boult struck a crucial boundary, another misunderstanding with Tajinder led to his run-out.
Defending nine off the final over, Daryl Mitchell redeemed himself after an expensive outing, conceding just five runs to seal a dramatic win. MI New York ended at 182/8, falling agonisingly short despite a spirited fightback.
