Wankhede Stadium will witness its first Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 fixture as Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Match 12 on Monday, 31 March. (Schedule | Teams | Points Table)
Back at their main home ground, MI will look to get their first win of the season. They have been disappointing in their opening two games in IPL 2025. Their latest loss came against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday. A slow Ahmedabad pitch and an excellent stint from Prasidh Krishna condemned them to a 36-run defeat.
Defending champions KKR had an equally disappointing opening-game loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), but bounced back with a dominant eight-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
The KKR spinners finally clicked into top gear at the Barsapara stadium, and Quinton de Kock바카라™s 97* was the highlight of the Knight Riders바카라™ batting department.
Mumbai have historically dominated the fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders, winning more than twice as many games. However, the form is very much on the visiting team바카라™s side, and Hardik Pandya and Co. will have to bring out the best of their faltering team to get their points table ticking.

Mumbai Indians Vs Kolkata Knight Riders 바카라“ Three Key Player Battles
Below are the three key player battles that will have an impact in the direction of the crucial clash at Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
1. Ajinkya Rahane Vs Deepak Chahar
New skipper Ajinkya Rahane has had a topsy-turvy start to his Knight Riders career. After scoring a 56-run knock in the opening match against RCB, he fell at just 18 against RR. In Monday바카라™s clash, MI바카라™s Deepak Chahar will likely be a thorn in Rahane바카라™s side.
Chahar has already dismissed Rahane four times in four seasons, conceding just 21 runs. The 32-year-old medium pacer has two wickets this season already, and will be itching to take the scalp of his old adversary again on his home ground.
2. Rohit Sharma Vs Anrich Nortje
The bouncy track at Wankhede will likely influence the KKR management to start Anrich Nortje in the place of Spencer Johnson. The South African pacer has 60 wickets in his injury-ravaged IPL career, but will be looking forward to making his IPL 2025 debut against Mumbai Indians.
His clash with Rohit Sharma will be the highlight of the match. The former MI captain has had a nightmarish start to his season, scoring 0 and 8 respectively. His record against Nortje is not excellent either. Despite the pacer conceding 37 runs in 24 balls over four seasons, he has also dismissed Rohit twice and bowled 13 dot balls.
3. Quinton de Kock Vs Trent Boult
The ultimate overseas battle of the match. After a poor start against RCB, the veteran batter was sublime against Rajasthan Royals, scoring an unbeaten 97 runs from 61 balls to essentially seal KKR바카라™s first win of the season.
The South African will face Mumbai바카라™s lead pace attacker Trent Boult. The Kiwi pacer has had a slow start 바카라“ same as the entire MI team 바카라“ taking just one wicket in two games while having an economy rate of 8.71. However, he has a good record against de Kock, dismissing him six times in as many seasons while conceding just 69 runs.
