Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings will eye top spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 points table when they tak on an already-eliminated Delhi Capitals in match 66, on Saturday, May 24 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
PBKS are through to the Playoffs but with the first and second spot still up for grabs, Shreyas Iyer will eye a victory and topple Gujarat Titans from the numero uno position and make it their own.
As for DC, the Delhi-based side will be playing for pride and could look to test their bench strength in the upcoming game.
Ahead of the replayed PBKS vs DC match, here are the key battles for the upcoming IPL 2025 match
Shreyas Iyer vs Faf Du Plessis
Axar Patel, Delhi Capitals's regular captain missed their last game against Mumbai Indians due to fever and possibly could also miss tonight's match against PBKS. With Axar's absence, Faf du Plesssis could stand-in again and will pit his wits against PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas is enjoying a fine campaign and is tipped by many to land the IPL 2025 title, just like he did with KKR last season.
Marco Jansen vs Tristan Stubbs
An All-South African battle could be a spectacle at the PBKS vs DC match as Marco Jansen will look to get the better of his fellow countryman, Tristan Stubbs on Saturday, May 24. Jansen has taken 13 wickets this season and has been Punjab's lynchpin in their bowling attack. As for Stubbs, the batter started off well but has fizzled out in the latter part of their campaign.
Arshdeep Singh vs KL Rahul
PBKS bowler Arshdeep Singh is known for his swing early on in the innings and if the Jaipur track does assist his pace bowling, the DC batters could be in for a nightmare. However, DC will want experienced star KL Rahul to be their shining light in armour and take his side to a victory.
