In response, LSG opener Mitch Marsh failed to make any runs. Arshdeep Singh dismissed both openers in his second over. He went on to dismiss Nicholas Pooran in his third over to dismantle the LSG top-order single-handedly.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant failed again with the bat and made just 18 runs off 17 balls. Ayush Badoni (74 off 40 balls) and Abdul Samad (45 off 24 balls) kept LSG in the game with regular big shots.
But the target proved to be more than enough for LSG as they could only make 199/7 in 20 overs. PBKS won the match by 37 runs and climbed to second place in the points table.
Arshdeep Singh took three wickets, whereas Azmatullah Omarzai grabbed a couple of wickets for the Kings. Prabhsimran Singh was named Player of the Match for his 91-run knock.
Now, Punjab Kings will host Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on Thursday, 8 May, and LSG will host RCB on Friday, 9 May, in Lucknow.
