Opener batter Pippa Sproul lost her wicket early and could only make one run. Coming to bat at number three, captain Kathryn Bryce was the highest run-scorer of her side with 60 runs off just 58 balls.
Ailsa Lister (38 off 38 balls) and Megan McColl (57 off 60 balls) played crucial knocks to help their team cross the 200-run mark. Scotland were restricted to 206 runs in 41 overs.
In response, Thailand's opener batters - Nattaya Boochatham (20) and Chanida Sutthiruang (18) added 41 runs for the first wicket. Natthakan Chantham played a gritty knock of 63 runs, but no other batter made a double-digit score.
Thailand women were bowled out for 148 runs and hence, lost the match by 58 runs. Rachel Slater, Abtaha Maqsood and Katherine Fraser took three wickets each for Scotland. Fraser was named Player of the Match for her performance.
Now, Thailand women will face Ireland women on Tuesday at the same venue, whereas Scotland will clash with Bangladesh women at the Gaddafi Stadium.
