The women's singles draw of Roland Garros 2025, made on Thursday (May 22), offers fresh challenges for defending champion Iga Swiatek, who is already struggling for form this season. Seeded fifth, which is her lowest at a Major since the 2022 Australian Open, Swiatek faces Rebecca Sramkova in her opener. The Polish tennis player could run into either Emma Raducanu or Wang Xinyu in the second round, and 26th seed Marta Kostyuk in the third. (More Tennis News)
It gets even trickier in the fourth round for the former world number one, with No. 12 Elena Rybakina and Jelena Ostapenko 바카라 who possesses a remarkable 6-0 head-to-head record against her 바카라 potentially looming. The 23-year-old Swiatek has not won any title or even reached a final since her French Open triumph in 2024. She also dealt with a doping suspension last year after failing an out-of-competition drug test in August for a banned heart medication.
Meanwhile, current world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is in the same half as Swiatek, and opens her campaign with a clash against Kamilla Rakhimova. Sabalenka too has been drawn against several possible stumbling blocks, including 27th seed Leylah Fernandez, Danielle Collins or Olga Danilovic in the third round, and Amanda Anisimova or Clara Tauson in the round of 16.
The Belarusian could then meet eighth seed Zheng Qinwen, who recently defeated her in straight sets at the Italian Open, in the last-eight stage. Fourth seed and last year's Roland Garros runner-up Jasmine Paolini is in the same quarter of the draw as Swiatek, and in the same half as Sabalenka.
Elsewhere, second seed Coco Gauff kick-starts her campaign against Olivia Gadecki and is seeded to lock horns with Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the last-eight stage. Third seed Jessica Pegula and No. 6 seed Mirra Andreeva head the third quarter, which features a blockbuster opening round between Sabalenka's bestie and 10th seed Paula Badosa and former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka.
