The match itself was an enthralling contest, which lasted close to three hours and world number two Swiatek was relieved to finally get over the line after securing the victory.

World number 125 Harris was playing as Britain's leading man in the mixed-gender team event with Jack Draper nursing a hip injury and Cameron Norrie starting the season at an ATP event in Hong Kong.
Harris acquitted himself well, losing serve just once in the match, but was unable to topple 2021 Wimbledon semi-finalist Hurkacz, who is ranked 16th. The Polish player was in a positive mood following his victory.
