Bollywood actor-filmmaker Anupam Kher reunited with legendary Hollywood star Robert De Niro, who is at Cannes Film Festival. Niro recently received the honorary Palme d'Or award for Lifetime Achievement, at the opening ceremony of Cannes 2025. Kher is at French Riviera for his directorial Tanvi The Great, which is set to premiere at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on May 17. Kher and Niro have been friends for long time. They worked together in 2012 Oscar-nominated film Silver Linings Playbook.
On Friday, Anupam Kher shared a video with the Taxi Driver star, where both can be seen hugging each other. Robert even kissed Anupam as a sweet gesture.
Alongside the video, the National-award winning actor penned a lengthy note that read: "It was the most amazing feeling to meet my friend #RobertDeNiro, his graceful wife #Tiffany and their beautiful daughter #Jia in #Cannes! Their love and affection touched me deeply. Congratulated him for getting the most prestigious award Palme d바카라Or award at the opening of #CannesFilmFestival."
Anupam also said that he introduced Tanvi The Great's star Shubhangi Dutt and other crew members to Niro.
"Told him about the #WorldPremiere of #TanviTheGreat in Cannes! He met #Shubhangi (Tanvi) and our other crew members very warmly! Showed him the first poster (to be released tomorrow) of our film! He LOVED it. Thank you dearest Mr. De Niro for your love, warmth, that wonderful hug, the delicious lunch and your infectious BRILLIANCE over the years!," Anupam added.

Tanvi The Great will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival's Marche du Film on May 17. It also stars Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami and Karan Tacker, in key roles. Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen is also part of the cast.
