Huma Qureshi Recalls A Film Reviewer Once Body Shamed Her, Said 'She's 5 Kgs Too Heavy To Be A Heroine'

While she has, over the years, proved her mettle with versatile performances, she is often targeted for her physical appearance, including her weight. 

She recently spoke about the same during an interview for Mojo Story with Barkha Dutt. Talking about how she was body shamed during the initial phases of her career, Huma mentioned how she mustered up courage to finally address the same during her magazine interviews. Adding how she had the urge to pull up her old articles and showing it to the people who wrote it, to tell them, 바카라�This is what you do to a young person who is trying to make it in her 20s.바카라� 

Recalling how mean things were written about her body in various articles, Huma said, 바카라�What is she wearing?바카라�, 바카라�Look at her knees and her calves바카라� zooming on certain body parts and circling them and many more.바카라� Huma goes on to mention that growing up kids in Mumbai might have been used to hearing such criticism from their parents and friends, she was not. She revealed how often people suggested she lose weight, go under the knife or even undergo liposuction surgery. Huma even mentioned how once a film reviewer commented that she needs to lose weight to be a mainstream heroine. Recalling the comment, Huma quoted the reviewer as saying, 바카라�She's such a lovely fine actress with a beautiful face, but maybe she's 5 kgs too heavy to be a mainstream heroine.바카라� 

Huma stated how she felt sad and couldn바카라�t stop sobbing after reading that harsh statement.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Huma was recently seen in the ZEE5 film 바카라�Tarla바카라�, and has started shooting for the third season of her acclaimed web-series 바카라�Maharani바카라�.
