Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 hit the theatres on June 6. The comedy film, which was released with two versions- Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B,   opened to mixed reviews, mostly positive. It had a promising start on Day 1 of its release, by crossing the Rs 20 crore mark. Housefull 5's opening collection is Akshay's fourth-biggest after his previous films, Mission Mangal (Rs 29.16 crore), Sooryavanshi (Rs 26.29 crore), and Gold (Rs 25.25 crore).

The fourth instalment of the comedy franchise collected Rs 23 crore (early estimates), as per a report in Sacnilk. Housefull 5 had an overall 28.88% Hindi occupancy on Friday. Night shows had the maximum occupancy of 45.65% and morning shows had minimum footfall of 13.86%. Afternoon shows and Evening shows had almost same occupancy of 28.00% and 28.01%, respectively.

Housefull 5 first day collection has surpassed the opening day collection of Akshay this year's release, Kesari Chapter 2, which earned only Rs 7.75 crore.

Akshay Kumar has witnessed several box office failures in 2024. His films Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Khel Khel Mein, and Sarfira tanked at the box office. Also, his 2025 film Sky Force failed to perform well.

Housefull 5 is expected to perform better in the upcoming days. As the film has two different endings, audiences have to watch the movie twice, which will help the makers rake in more money.

It is reportedly made on a whopping budget of Rs 225 crore.

Housefull 5 has been directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Soundarya Sharma, and Ranjeet.
