The much-awaited trailer for Maa, starring Kajol in the lead, was unveiled today, May 29, at an event in Mumbai. The mythological horror film, helmed by Chhorii fame director Vishal Furia, marks Kajol's debut in the horror genre.
Kajol plays a protective mother, who unleashes her fierce avatar to save her daughter from evil forces. She turns Goddess Kaali to end a curse.
The film also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma, and Ronit Roy, in important roles.
The 2-minute and 24 seconds trailer begins with Kajol driving her daughter through a forest road and her daughter complains of her period pain. Kajol says they will stop if they find a hotel ahead. Then a mysterious figure slams into the car window, and we are shown they arrive in an unknown place, where Kajol asks her daughter not to step out of the place without informing her.
The daughter finds out about a cursed tree in that area which is believed to be the abode of evil spirits. Then appears Ronit Roy who says that several girls have disappeared from that place in the last few months. Protective Kajol says that she will not let her daughter be the sacrifice for ending the demonic curse of the place. Will she be able to save her daughter? Well, for that you have to wait for Maa's theatrical release on June 27, 2025.

On the work front, Kajol will be seen in Charan Tej Uppalapati바카라s action drama Maharagni 바카라 Queen of Queens, also co-starring Prabhu Deva. The film marks their reunion after 27 years. She also has Ibrahim Ali Khan starrer Sarzameen. The actress was last seen in Netflix바카라s Do Patti.
