President Droupadi Murmu, on Tuesday, May 27, awarded Padma Awards 2025 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-II at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. At the second phase of the award ceremony, she conferred Padma Awards to 69 eminent personalities for the year 2025- 3 were conferred with Padma Vibhushan, 9 personalities were honoured with Padma Bhushan and 57 with honoured with Padma Shri.
Veteran actors Ashok Laxman Saraf, Anant Nag, Indian composer and three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej and Bharatnatyam dancer and actor Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai, among others, were the recipients at Padma Awards 2025.
Nag and Saraf received Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, respectively. Kej was also conferred with the Padma Shri for his contribution in the field of music. Actor Shobana received the Padma Bhushan for her contribution to art. Renowned folk singer late Sharda Sinha was awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously in the art category.
Achyut Palav, and Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande were also honoured with the Padma Shri for their work in the field of arts.
The dignitaries present at the occasion, were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers including Amit Shah, Dr S Jaishankar and Pralhad Joshi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and more.
The Padma Awards 2025 were announced on January 25, 2025. The first phase of the award ceremony took place on April 28, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President of India had conferred Padma Awards to 71 eminent personalities including Ajith Kumar, Shekhar Kapur, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and others.
