Rakesh Poojary, Kannada Actor And Winner Of Comedy Khiladigalu, Passes Away Due To Heart Attack

Reports claim that Rakesh Poojary died after collapsing during a dance at a relative's pre-wedding function in Udupi.

Rakesh Poojary, Kannada television personality and comedian, and winner of Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3, breathed his last on late Sunday night, reported PTI. He was 34.

As per the report, Rakesh died after collapsing at a relative's pre-wedding ceremony in Udupi.

A viral video of him from the event, holding his chest while dancing has gone viral on social media.

Rakesh Poojary's Death

Rakesh suffered a cardiac arrest, during a mehendi ceremony in Nitte, located in Karkala taluk of Udupi district. He was taken to a hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.

He shared a picture from the wedding on his Instagram Stories, that shows him happily posing with his friends and the newlyweds. It was shared just a few hours before his tragic demise.

Who was Rakesh Poojary?

Rakesh, who was popularly known as Vishwaroop, gained recognition during Comedy Khiladigalu Season 2, where his team was the runner-up. He received widespread recognition when he won the third season of the Zee Kannada show in 2020. He became one of the most loved Kannada television comedians.

Apart from television, Rakesh was also active in theatre and films. He did several Kannada movies including Pailwan and Itu Entha Lokavayya, and Tulu films such as Petkammi and Ammer Police.

Rakesh was reportedly shooting for Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1.

His last rites will take place in his hometown of Karkala, family members said.

Rakesh friends and colleagues have shared heartfelt condolences on social media.
