Katy Perry and five other celebrities who were launched into space today on a short flight aboard Blue Origin바카라s New Shepard rocket and capsule landed safely in Texas.
Joining Perry as part of the all-female crew were Gayle King, 바카라CBS Mornings바카라 co-host; Lauren Sánchez, a former journalist who is Jeff Bezos바카라 fiancée; Aisha Bowe, a former NASA rocket scientist; Amanda Nguyen, a bioastronautics research scientist; and Kerianne Flynn, a movie producer.
Liftoff occurred at 9:30 a.m. ET from Blue Origin바카라s launch site in Van Horn, Texas. Over the course of the approximately 10-minute flight, the six crew members traveled just beyond the Kármán line바카라an invisible boundary 62 miles above Earth that marks the edge of space바카라before the capsule safely parachuted back down, landing in the Texas desert.
The last all-women space crew was over 60 years ago when Soviet Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to travel into space during a solo mission on the Vostok 6.
This mission is part of Blue Origin's sub-orbital space tourism programme. This mission also marks Blue Origin's 11th crewed suborbital flight. As they cross the Karman line, the all-women space crew will also experience a few moments of weightlessness.
The spacecraft was fully autonomous and will require no pilots, nor will the crew manually operate the vehicle.
