Pope Francis' funeral will take place on Saturday, April 26. As per the official announcement from the Vatican, the funeral will take place in the square in front of St Peter's Basilica at 10 AM (0800 GMT).
The 88-year-old pope died on Easter Monday at 7:35 AM in his apartment at Casa Santa Marta. As per the Vatican, the cause of the death was a stroke and subsequent heart failure, as confirmed by an ECG test.

The pope will be buried at Santa Maria Maggiore church in Rome바카라™s Esquilino neighbourhood, which was stated in his will. Based on his request, Pope Francis broke a longstanding Vatican tradition.
Traditionally, when a pope dies they get three coffins placed inside each other, one made of cypress wood, one of lead and one of elm.
Once the coffins have been put together, the pope's body is then placed inside and buried beneath St Peter's.
Pope Francis, however, will be buried in one coffin made of wood and lined with zinc and his remains will be placed at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, instead of St Peter's.
